There is concern about the increasing number of children under 13 using social media services, particularly Instagram. Companies like Instagram require a minimum use age of 13 in order to protect young children from the pressures and dangers that are associated with the use of social media. Children under the age of 13 are more likely to share personal information on social media and partake in risk taking/inappropriate behaviour on social media. Are you aware of who your child is interacting with online? Do you have a proper understanding of social media? When your child is using social media, are your eyes wide shut?
